Development
ALP develops community links and projects through its workers and the ALP Association. ALP works with the Community Forum, Community Council, Family Learning, Westend Race Relations Forum, Tollcross Primary School, local schools and community associations.
International Links
We maintain relationships with community partners in Barcelona and Donegal in Ireland. ALP/Tollcross is host to social learning events with communities in Edinburgh including the Gaelic Community, Brazilian, Portuguese, Sudanese and Polish groups who hold regular social and learning events in the centre.

Fundraising and Social Events in the Community
The Scots Music Group and ALP Association regularly regularly run family, friendly dances in various venues including Tollcross Primary School. Contact ALP to find out where and when they are on. The Welconmig has a programme of world music events held at the centre. We have a full theatre licence and encourage centre and local groups to put on music and dance events. Study Breaks and Cultural Exchange
ALP takes groups of adult learners on exchanges with other learners and community development projects. In 2006, groups went to Hamburg and Lisbon. We are currently developing links with adult education projects in Barcelona, Germany and Lithuania.

This group makes links with educational projects on the Atlantic coast of Nicaragua.

Celebrating 30 Years of ALP
To mark 30 years of ALP, the ALP Association will host a series of events in December 2009. We will start preparations autumn 2009.

Projects in Development
We are developing a project working with Cuban papier-mâchè mask makers ‘Cuba-Vista’ to use masks celebrate learning and developing critical idea. A decoding of the ideas in Marx’s 'Capital' has been suggested as helpful given the current crisis in capitalism.
