Education, Networking, Action, Culture and Training
for Women – we are a volunteer-led organisation which aims to explore,
develop and support initiatives which use these areas as mechanisms
whereby women in the community can become more active and visible
as makers and sharers of culture. We use culture in the widest
sense as comprising the historical, social, political, economic
and artistic life of the community. We strengthen the links between women's organisations and individual women, particularly those experiencing exclusion, isolation and the effects of cultural institutions and individual discrimination.
ENACT for Women brings together
women's groups throughout the city to run a Womens Festival
built around International Women's Day which is held on 8th March each year. The IWD programme
for 2007 is now being planned.
If you or your organisation
would like to be part of ENACT for Women, please come along to
our Vision Workshop or one of our planning meetings. No particular skills are needed just a bit of energy and a willingness to get involved. We will run training sessions throughout the year on everything you need to know about organising a festival and planning events
