Paulo Freire courses

The Practice of Dialogical Learning
Paulo Freire’s ideas have inspired community educators. ALP has been translating his ideas and using them as an innovating force in Community Learning and Development. The course will demonstrate and teach techniques as a follow on to the ‘Rough Guide to Freire’ course run in previous years. We invite community educators, teachers and learning group leaders, either practicing or hoping to practice, to come along and learn how to incorporate these transformative practices into their work.

*** Mondays 7.15-9.15pm – course runs from January 2008. For more details contact Stan at ALP.

Paulo Freire Reading Circle
This self-programming group will meet to make sense of the work of one of the 20th Century’s most influential educationalists. We will use a close reading decoding technique to get inside the main ideas and work out ways to develop our adult education practice whether as a participant, activist, teacher, community learning worker or organiser.

*** Wed evenings, monthly on 26 Sept, 24 Oct, 21 Nov and 19 Dec. More details from John at ALP.
