Boats and Communication
With the Union Canal at Tollcross, we want to involve the local community in using this wonderful facility by building and using small boats. We plan the programme of work, meet other people who are building boats on the canal, visit boat projects on the web and select our designs. Those who want to improve their communicatio n (reading, writing and arithmetic) will be supported by a tutor and others on the project. We are building an 18 foot currach which is a type of rowing boat with a wooden frame over which is stretched canvas. All the materials are recyled.
*** Wednesdays 5.15-9.15pm.
